A low pressure system will deepen rapidly over the Great Lakes Saturday then track northeastward over southwestern Québec Saturday night. A frontal system associated with this low is forecast to cross the Maritimes Saturday night. Strong southeast winds with gusts up to 100 km/h can be expected ahead of this system. Les suete winds over the Cape Breton Highlands are expected to reach 140 km/h. The public is advised that an area of rain at times heavy will accompany these winds. Rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 millimetres can be expected to fall rapidly in a short period of time over most localities.

A sunny day today, with light winds making it much more pleasant than yesterday. You cauld say it is the calm before the storm because tomorrow evening we can expect high winds up to 100 km/hr and heavy rain.
