A low pressure system moving up the atlantic coast is forecast to deepen as it approaches atlantic Canada late tonight. By the time the rain tapers off Thursday evening total amounts of 50 to 60 millimetres are expected for mainland Nova Scotia..However amounts up to 70 millimetres are possible for southern portions of the atlantic coast and Cape Breton.

A low pressure system will deepen rapidly over the Great Lakes Saturday then track northeastward over southwestern Québec Saturday night. A frontal system associated with this low is forecast to cross the Maritimes Saturday night. Strong southeast winds with gusts up to 100 km/h can be expected ahead of this system. Les suete winds over the Cape Breton Highlands are expected to reach 140 km/h. The public is advised that an area of rain at times heavy will accompany these winds. Rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 millimetres can be expected to fall rapidly in a short period of time over most localities.

A tractor-trailer went off the road early afternoon on the 102 Hwy between Kearney Lake and Bedford causing major traffic jams through out the area well into the evening. Rainning very heavily and strong winds at the time of the accident. Driver only suffered minor injuries.

Well I am back after 4 days with no internet and then being sick. Today saw rain at times heavy and strong SE winds gusting to 70-80 km/hr. Rain and wind tappered off late this afternoon.
