HURRICANE FLORENCE WAS ABOUT 100 KILOMETRES NORTHWEST OF BERMUDA AT
NOON TODAY AND IS EXPECTED TO PASS WELL OFFSHORE OF NOVA SCOTIA
TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE MOST NOTICEABLE IMPACT OF
FLORENCE IN NOVA SCOTIA WILL BE THE ROUGH AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS
SURF THAT WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE ATLANTIC COAST ON TUESDAY.
ANY ASSOCIATED RAIN ACTIVITY SHOULD BE CONFINED TO EASTERNMOST
REGIONS TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE PUBLIC IS ADVISED
TO MONITOR THE FORECASTS SINCE DEPENDING ON THE TRACK OF FLORENCE
RAINFALL WARNINGS MAY BE NEEDED FOR PORTIONS OF CAPE BRETON ISLAND.
STORM FORCE WINDS ARE EXPECTED OVER SOUTHEASTERN OFFSHORE WATERS BUT
LOCALITIES ALONG THE ATLANTIC COAST SHOULD ONLY EXPERIENCE GUSTS TO
50 OR 70 KM/H.
