Rainfall warning for
Halifax Metro and Halifax County West continued

25 to 55 millimetres rainfall expected today and tonight.

A low pressure system is forecast to intensify rapidly as it moves up the Bay of Fundy and then over southern New Brunswick today. The low is expected to bring significant amounts of rain to Nova Scotia today and tonight. Precipitation will start as snow inland and over northern regions. Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 55 millimetres are forecast with the greatest amounts along the Atlantic coast. As well winds gusting up to a 110 km/h are forecast over eastern sections of the Atlantic coast tonight. Les Suetes winds to 160 km/h are forecast for the Highlands of Cape Breton.
